The Project
This spot stars Carrie Fisher as a therapist counseling a group of robots, one of which is voiced by Steve Buscemi, who feels obsolete. Unlike IBM’s Watson, these artificially intelligent machines don’t work well with humans. Many of them are more into the whole world domination thing. One just wants to dust.
Different strokes, yo!
Additional online TVCs spotlight different robots in individual therapy sessions with Fisher.
The Process
All of he robots featured carry some sort of nostalgic style to them, spanning the different robots we have seen throughout entertainment in the last century. For the robot we were tasked with, we had to create a more holographic interpretation.
We went on an adventure covering many differing styles and homages from something influenced by the 1980's feature film Flash Gordon to a more vintage Transformer style mech.
We had a lot of fun... hopefully that translates.
